The Sorcerer (2022)
The Sorcerer was the first full length operetta collaboration between W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, following the Christmas revue Thespis and the one act Trial by Jury, and it established many of the tropes, character types, and song structures that carried through their remaining collaborations.

The titular Sorcerer, John Wellington Wells, arrives in the village of Ploverleigh after Alexis, the son of the local baronet, hires him to implement Alexis's principle that love should unite all classes and ranks. Wells brews a potion that makes everyone in the village fall in love with the first person they see, resulting in absurdly mix-matched couples- including Alexis's father, the baronet, with a pew opener, and the pew opener's daughter with an elderly notary. Chaos and topsy-turvy-ness ensue, until the village rallies against Wells, and order is restored.
